Regular Meeting Minutes: April 10, 2021

Uniforms: Formal and Bug Run uniform

As previously agreed, the uniform design will be the same with previous uniform: Polo shirt with embroidery. Minor modification will be the addition of VWCP National Logo on the right shoulder, as suggested by Pres. Tampus, seconded by Lido Abellar. The use of logo, however, is still for approval by the VWCP National Chapter. A unanimous approval that the uniform price will be the same for all members and the excess amount from the payments will be added to the club’s treasury. The amount for one formal uniform is 500.00 Pesos. Deadline for collection is until the next meeting on April 24, 2021. Pres. Tampus will directly message active members for confirming uniform purchase. First batch order will be prior to April 24.

As for the Bug Run uniform, Mr. Mariano Catague advised to create a new design to be printed on the gray long sleeves, round-neck cotton t-shirt. Update on the design will be sometime the week that follows.

Bug Run and other activities

It has been suggested that the next bug run will be towards south, Lake Sebu as previously suggested by Lido Abellar. Dr. Hernandez however suggested that the group will spend the night at Strawberry and Guyabano Farm (SG Farm) in Kablon, Tupi, South Cotabato, where the club can book for a house. Some information provided by Pres. Tampus and Mr. Abellar: The area is colder so the members can relax during summer. The road going to the area is now cemented with humpy terrain due to surrounding pineapple farms. Going to the SG farm is an uphill ride and many tourists visit the area. There is also a swimming pool which water is cold. Another alternative for destination venue is Glan where Dr. Hernandez has a relative where the group can pitch up tents. Tentative date of bug run is on May 8 to 9, 2021 (Saturday and Sunday). Pres. Tampus suggested that the club invites other neighbor clubs: Davao Del Sur VW Club and Davao Northwagen Club.

VWCP Badge updates

Pres. Tampus contacted Vice President Carlito Basco of VWCP National earlier that day regarding the badges. According to VP Basco, the processing of badges is currently on hold as the status of Metro Manila is on lock down with ECQ due to rising COVID-19 cases. VP Basco advised to keep the club informed when the badges’ progress will resume, probably upon the lifting of lockdown in Metro Manila.

Others

• Car Logo Sticker – Dr. Hernandez pointed out that the club should start ordering the creation of new stickers as it has been few years since the previous printing. Pres. Tampus suggested that the price for each sticker is 100 Pesos, having the excess to be added to the club’s treasury. These were unanimously agreed.
• Meetup with VWCP Mindanao – Pres. Tampus stated that he previously reached out to Mr. Cholo Dumlao, current president of VWCP Mindanao for possibility of meetup of both clubs. Pres. Tampus asked the everyone present how they feel about having meetup with VWCP Mindanao. All members present are agreeable with the idea.
